Safari 1, Sept 25th, 2011

Well, time has passed so quickly (for me anyway) and I am now counting the days untill i get back home on tomorrow a week. It has been hard work at times but no doubt a enriching experience that I shall treasure. I shall finish over here with another posting in 2-3 days that should include a farewell party that usually put up by the vietnamese vets and has a tendnecy to be fairly wild...
Anyway, today we had a Safari drive of about 70 kilometres through native bush, to the west ofwhere we are and we did get pretty close to the border with Laos. I was good to see a little wild life, birds and lots of butterflies. No doubt a godd adventure which I really enjoyed since I had only left the viccinity of the farm  once so it was nice to go and see a little further afield.

The safari was organized by our Israelis friends, a good and fun bunch to muck around with..

The area we went through is the area the north vietnamese army marched through for 3 months on their under-the-bush-under-cover march to meet their foes down south during the Vietnam war...
